CardStarter Pool Weight Explained

CardStarter IDO Share Allocations

CARDS holders who wish to participate in upcoming IDOs will be required to stake their CARDS tokens to register for an upcoming sale. Once a CARDS staker completes a purchase, their CARDS will be locked in the staking pool for 7 days. Staking will be available directly on our web application when it launches. The number of CARDS staked will determine the tier eligibility. For more information on our tier structure, please read our recent article HERE.

How Does the Pool Weight Affect My Allocation?

Pool weight represents the number of “shares” each eligible CARDS staker will be able to contribute to a presale. The individual pool weight of all qualified CARDS stakers is added up to give the total pool weight shares. The number of tokens to be sold in the IDO is then divided by the total number of pool weight shares to derive the allocation size of each pool weight share. Hence, the number of tokens per pool share can be derived following this formula:

(Total # of tokens to be sold at IDO)/(Sum(Tier pool weight x # of CARDS holders in that tier) for every Tier)

Let’s run through an example IDO scenario:

Project A launching on CardStarter wants to sell 1,000,000 tokens.

320 Deuces have staked their required 500 CARDS each for 7 days. 50%, or 160 Deuces win the lottery for allocation (selection methodology will be shared in a subsequent article)

  • Pool Weight (0.5x)X(160 Deuces)=80 Pool Shares

220 Jacks have staked their required 1500 CARDS each for 7 days for guaranteed allocation

  • Pool Weight (1x)X(220 Jacks)=220 Pool Shares

80 Queens have staked their required 4,500 CARDS each for 7 days

  • Pool Weight (3x)X(80 Queens)=240 Pool Shares

30 Kings have staked their required 9,000 CARDS each for 7 days

  • Pool Weight (6x)X30=180 Pool Shares

10 Aces are hand selected by being top liquidity providers or wallet holders

  • Pool Weight (8x)X10=80 Pool Shares

The total number of pool shares for all tier members is 80+220+240+180+80=800.

Therefore, the 1,000,000 tokens available in Project A’s sale would be divided by 800 (1,000,000/800=1250) Each pool share equals 1250 tokens.

Members of each tier will have the following allocations:

Token Allocation

  • Deuces: Pool Weight (0.5x) x (1250 Pool Share)=620.5
  • Jacks: Pool Weight (1x) x (1250 Pool Share)=1250
  • Queens: Pool Weight (3x) x (1250 Pool Share)=3750
  • Kings: Pool Weight (6x) x (1250 Pool Share) =7500
  • Aces: Pool Weight (8x) x (1250 Pool Share)=10000
